President Obama announces nominations for key administration posts

WASHINGTON D.C. (BNO NEWS) – U.S. President Barack Obama intents to nominate Robert Ford and Jonathan Hatfield for key administration posts, the White House informed on Tuesday.

“Our nation will be well-served by these fine public servants, who both bring a depth of experience and tremendous dedication to their fields. I look forward to working with them in the months and years ahead,” President Obama said.

Robert Ford was nominated for Ambassador to the Syrian Arab Republic. Mr. Ford is currently the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy Baghdad, Iraq. In 2006, he served as U.S. Ambassador in Algeria. He has received a number of Department of State awards like the 2005 James Clement Dunn Award for outstanding work at the mid-level in the Foreign Service.

Jonathan Hatfield was nominated for Inspector General, Corporation for National and Community Service. Mr. Hatfield has been the Deputy Inspector General of the Federal Election Commission since 2005. Since 1994, he has served at several executive, managerial, and staff positions in the Federal Election Commission Office. The Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency recognized Mr. Hatfield for his accomplishments.
