However, the display of the statue in a park did not go down well with some residents of Indonesia. The school children were happy to see the statue in their school and they became even more delighted when the news of his probable visit was declared. The statue is a likeness of the US president when he was a child. The statue has a butterfly perched on the thumb of the boy. On Sunday night, the statue was set on the school ground. President Barack Obama studied in this school for three years when his mother was married to an Indonesian.

The students of the school in Jakarta are pretty excited about the installation of the statue and are waiting to see him in person. Most of the students are full of admiration and awe for the president and consider him to be a great leader. An American born in Jakarta raised the funds to build the statue. He said that according to US government officials the President is likely to visit the country sometime in March this year.

While the Indonesians are happy about the connection President Barack Obama shares with the country, a section of them opposed the statue’s installation in the park saying that an Indonesian hero should be preferred over him. The parents of the kids studying in the school, however, have also supported the idea that the school is the best place for the statue.
