Jan 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Wednesday night, Barack Obama, The president of USA delivered his much awaited State of the Union speech. It evoked a mixed response from the viewers. The President sounded harsh on the leaders of Iran. He made it clear in his speech that the leaders of Iran are likely to face consequences for overlooking their responsibilities for nuclear developments gone awry. However, the President’s speech did not deal with foreign policy as such. He did not talk about his attempts to resume the peace talks related to Israel and Palestine. In the last part of his speech, the President mentioned that he will take initiative on North Korean Nuclear developments in the coming future.
He expressed his opinion that Iran is getting more isolated with time while the international community is gaining strength. The president did not have a diplomatic overtone towards Iran in his speech and it was quite evident. On the domestic front, the President made it clear that passing the Health care bill is among his topmost priorities. He admitted that the issue has raised unrest in the US political scene but he also said that its importance should not be undermined. The president said that the bill will benefit the citizens of the country and as a President he should look forward to its execution in the proper way.
However, he refrained from commenting on how the Democrats will manage to get this bill approved. The bloggers who have heard the speech have already started expressing their opinions in blogs. While some of them think the speech was a good one, the others have pointed at some loopholes in it.
