President Barack Obama’s September 11 Speech Sounds Cautious

Washington, Sep 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) President Barack Obama made an ardent appeal to the residents of USA on the anniversary of 9/11 to show religious tolerance to the Muslim community and reminded that Islam is not the enemy of the US people. While he said that extremist terrorist groups will not be spared, he also stressed on the fact that as a nation USA has nothing against the Islam religion or Muslims. This year’s 9/11 anniversary has got mired in the controversy triggered by a remark by a Florida pastor that has made the Islamic groups agitated worldwide. The president tried to sound cautious when he was asked about what was on his mind on the anniversary of this political event.
He went on to admire his predecessor President George W. Bush for coping up with the hard time the nation was thrown in after the 9/11 tragedy. He also added that the extremist Islamic terrorist groups those are hell bent on destroying communal harmony in various places do not follow the core values of Islam. He reminded the residents that there are a lot of Muslims in the US army who are as patriotic as other soldiers belonging to other religions. He also said that the Muslims living or working in the USA should not be discriminated.
He went on to say that personally he does not believe in the theory of attack and counter attack. He once again condemned the declaration of Terry Jones the Florida Pastor who wanted to burn Quran. He expressed his worry that the acts of the pastor may eventually lead to large scale communal violence.
