Washington, Mar 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The interview of President Barack Obama on the Fox Network, which took place yesterday, was watched by a large section of political veterans and public with rapt attention. Both the President and the White house officials have come down heavily on the network in the past and that made watching the interview all the more interesting. As expected, the president had to face some hard questions by the network and he tried to give fitting answers to those queries as well. A part of the interview dwelt on the much disputed health care bill which is facing oppositions from both the Republicans and a section of the Democrats.
The interview of the President was taken by Bret Baier, the Fox channel anchor. However, the President did not clearly answer how the Congress will ride over the obstacles the bill is facing. The president refused to admit the theory that the political relations between the USA and Israel have soured beyond repair. The President denied that the falling out between the two countries can be compared to a crisis. He said Israel is considered among the close Allies of the USA and fallout over an issue does not necessarily mean the end of a relation.
The President also said that despite the attacks from Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of State, the USA is trying to evaluate the situation in Israel with a neutral outlook. He also talked tough on the possibility of Iran going ahead with its nuclear development programs. He had to admit that his attempts to bring Iran to a dialogue over the issue have yielded lukewarm response.
