Nov 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Friday morning, there was some bloody affair in the White House, when President Barack Obama received an injury while playing a basketball game, as a result of which he had to take 12 stitches. Reportedly, the injury was a cut on his lip, which happened as a result of an elbowing by Rey Decerega, while the game was going on.

According to a source, that Rey Decerega was the man responsible for the injury was revealed later on Friday afternoon, after Rey Decerega, the director for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, issued a statement saying that he had accidentally hit his elbow to the President’s mouth, when Barack Obama was playing defense. This unfortunate incident happened when the fifth of the five games was being played. President Barack Obama is known for his passion for basketball, for which he had also put up a basketball court on the South Lawn of the White House. During his Presidential campaigning days he used to play a lot of basketball. Friday morning was one such day, when the President along with his family and friends was playing a friendly match. The elbowing occurred when almost 90 minutes had passed since they all had started to play.

As soon as the accident took place, the officials without any delay took the President to the White House clinic where he received 12 stitches. An insider revealed that Barack Obama was treated under local anesthesia and the team of doctors used a smaller filament than the usual one, which though requires more stitches, but helps in diminishing the scar to a great extent.
