President Barack Obama Pays Visit To Tucson Shooting Victims

Tucson, Arizona, Jan 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The President of United States, Barack Obama urged the whole nation on Wednesday to honor the Tucson shooting victims, who lost their lives and were severely wounded by the rampage. He asked the nation to heal each other during this difficult time. Before attending the memorial service, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama paid visit to the Tucson shooting victims at the hospital. The President, then attended the memorial service, where he said that U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords opened her eyes for the first time when he visited her.
“Together We Thrive: Tucson and America” at the University of Arizona witnessed President Barack Obama paying tribute to all the victims of Tucson shooting. The crowd burst into applause when the President announced that the Congresswoman opened her eyes and responded to his words. Gabrielle Giffords was supposedly the prime target of Arizona shooting and the assailant shot her in her head. The doctors reported that she was responding to the commands and showing signs of recovery as well. In his speech, President Barack Obama said that he can assure the fact that Gabrielle Giffords knows that the Americans are with her and they are praying for her recovery as well. The President added that the Congresswoman knows that the Americans love her and would be “rooting” for her throughout her difficult journey.
The media outlets reported that the President and his wife spent about nine minutes in Gabrielle Giffords’ room before visiting other victims. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who also visited the hospital, said that it was during this time the U.S. Representative opened her eyes after she heard their voices. Kirsten Gillibrand said that the whole incident was like a “miracle” to him.
