obama2Washington, Mar 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) President Barack Obama commented on Tuesday, Mar 2, that he is open to ideas from the GOP, or the Grand Old Party, which is the nickname given to the Republican Party. The declaration has come regarding the much disputed health care reform bill. In fact, the declaration of the President comes right after the Health Care Summit took place a few days back, between both the parties. He frankly announced that the move has been taken by him in order to give the health care reform bill the much required push. The declaration came in the form of a letter that he had written to the leaders of the Congress.

The President mentioned in his letter all the ideas that had been briefly dealt with in the Health Care Summit. He proposed some really nice sounding ideas, for instance, the sending of undercover agents of the government going over to the hospitals and medical agencies in order to find out if there is anything amiss, expanded benefits to Medicaid providers, and an increased program for malpractice reform.

Various other plans were also detailed by President Barack Obama, including some suggested by the Republicans. For example, he did not include the Medicare Plan in his deal, and in fact went on to say that he would be including four plans sponsored by the GOP. However, it is mostly expected that the promise is not going to secure the bill a single Republican vote, possibly because he outright refused to restart the debate over the bill, nor did he go back on his ideas significantly, those ideas that irked many Republicans.
