Washington, Nov 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On the occasion of Thanksgiving, Americans all over United States spend quality time with family and friends to enjoy the festive mood to the fullest. However, for the first family things did not seem to have been any different even during the Thanksgiving festivities as the U.S President, his wife first lady Michelle Obama and their two daughters were seen at a charity center in Washington D.C. on Wednesday distributing food supplies.
The first couple as well as their two daughters Sasha and Malia and Michelle Obama’s mother Marian Robinson visited the charity center on the day before Thanksgiving and handed out bag full of food supplies comprising of Thanksgiving specialities. The United States President was his candid best as he greeted the families with holiday wishes and smiles while giving them the food supplies. Not only President Barack Obama, but the entire first family was upbeat and welcoming while interacting with the people who had lined up for the charity event and wishing them the very best this festive season. The first family’s stint at the charity center came just after the U.S. President performed the annual ritual of pardoning a pair of turkey on the eve of Thanksgiving.
Two 21-week-old turkeys Apple and Cider were selected from a group of 25 turkeys while President Barack Obama cracked jokes about the competition that brought the birds to White House. In the Rose Garden of the White House, the U.S President jokingly added that he felt pretty good to stop at least one ’shellacking’ this month. President Barack Obama had used the same word ’shellacking’ to describe the defeat that the Democrats faced in the November’s mid-term polls.
