Mar 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) United States President Barack Obama appeared in an interview with Bret Baier on Fox News on Wednesday to gather last minute support for the health care reform bill which would be voted in the U.S. House on Sunday. It hardly comes as a surprise that Special Report’s Bret Baier’s one on one with President Barack Obama received wide viewership as the network has been at the receiving end of criticism by the Obama government due to its alleged Republican bias.
In the widely watched interview, President Barack Obama had to encounter hard-hitting questions from the journalist although the United States President showcased his confidence that the proposed health care bill would be successful in winning extensive support and consequently would be passed by the Congress. However, one of the highlights of the much anticipated interview turned out to be Bret Baier’s repeated interruption of the president’s answer, with President Barack Obama directly asking him to stop cutting him short while giving the answers. Meanwhile, many critics have reiterated that the interview largely remained unproductive as the president wanted to point out the virtues of the bill while the interviewer pressed President Barack Obama about the complicated process that the Democratic party might undertake in order to pass the bill.
However, President Barack Obama had a reason to smile on Wednesday as Dennis Kucinich, who had been against the bill, declared that he would give his support to the proposed legislation. Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the United States President’s interview with the Special Report’s turned out to be one of the most watched shows, with ratings escalating to 2.907 million viewers.
