Pratibha Patil to be awarded doctorate by Goa University

Panaji, Nov 21 (IANS) President Pratibha Patil will be conferred an honorary doctorate by Goa University (GU).
Patil will be conferred a D.Litt degree (doctor of letters) at a convocation function held at the university Nov 24, GU vice chancellor Dilip Deobagkar told reporters here Saturday.
“GU’s executive council recommended the name of President Pratibha Patil for the honour, which was later approved by S.S. Sidhu, the governor of Goa,” Deobagkar said.
The convocation and a civic reception is on the agenda of Patil’s four day visit to the state beginning Saturday.
