Pranab meets opposition leaders ahead of parliament session

New Delhi, July 19 (IANS) Finance Minister and Leader of the House in the Lok Sabha Pranab Mukerjee Monday met opposition leaders L.K. Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley ahead of the monsoon session of parliament and discussed the constitutional amendments to roll out the Goods and Service Tax (GST) from the next fiscal.
“Pranab Mukherjee met our leaders Advaniji, Sushmaji (leader of opposition in Lok Sabha) and Arunji (leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha) today over lunch and the discussion was on GST,” Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman told IANS.
Mukherjee is likely to meet state finance ministers July 21, to discuss amendments needed to roll out GST from the next fiscal.
