New Delhi, Feb 25 (IANS) Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee shouted at, but later apologised to opposition members in the Lok Sabha Friday when some of them interrupted him while he was replying to a question on black money stashed by Indians in foreign banks. A ruckus followed, prompting Speaker Meira Kumar to briefly adjourn the house.”Don’t interrupt me,” a grim-faced Mukherjee shouted repeatedly at opposition MPs.
He was replying to a question on the black money issue and said Hasan Ali, who is alleged to have stashed away a huge amount of money in foreign banks, has not been allowed to leave the country as per the Supreme Court directions.
“There is a law of the land (to follow),” the finance minister said loudly prompting some MPs to troop into the speaker’s podium in protest.
Amid the ruckus, Meira Kumar adjourned the house for about five minutes.
When MPs reassembled, Mukherjee apologised to the house saying he was provoked to speak loudly and didn’t mean to offend anybody.
