Poll panel orders removal of police official
April 16th, 2009 - 10:41 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Siliguri, April 16 (IANS) The Election Commission Thursday removed a police sub-inspector in West Bengal’s Darjeeling district for not following an observer’s order.
Kurseong police station sub-inspector Sudip Singh was pulled up for delay in carrying out an order from an Election Commission observer to seize a car which was displaying flags of the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) without permission.
Following a report from observer Vijay Arora, the commission removed Singh from the police station and directed that he be confined to the Darjeeling police lines.
