Poll notification for third phase issued in Kashmir
November 4th, 2008 - 9:25 pm ICT by IANSSrinagar, Nov 4 (IANS) Five constituencies of north Kashmir Kupwara district will go to polls Nov 30 during the third round of seven-phase assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir. According to a poll notification issued Tuesday, these constituencies are Karnah, Kupwara, Lolab, Handwara and Langate.
While Nov 11 has been fixed as the last date for nominations, scrutiny of the papers will be done Nov 12.
The last date for withdrawal is Nov 14.
A total of 448 polling booths are being set up across the north Kashmir district of Kupwara, where 341,946 voters are expected to exercise their franchise.
Of these, 178,557 are male while 163,389 are female voters.
