al-goreJuly 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Wednesday the Oregon Police said that it has re-opened a 2006 investigation into the case where a Portland massage therapist named Molly Hagerty alleged that the former Vice President Al Gore had groped her at a hotel room.

The police will now once again re-investigate the allegations that were made by the masseuse. The announcement was made by the Portland Police Bureau in a brief statement, but it did not mention why the case that was earlier considered closed due to lack of evidence has been reopened again.

Molly Hagerty had alleged back in 2006 that former Vice President Al Gore had made unwanted sexual advances towards her on Oct. 24, 2006 during a massage appointment. She had mentioned that Al Gore who was registered as “Mr.Stone” in the downtown Hotel Lucia at that day had groped her, kissed her and pinned her down on his hotel bed. The allegation surfaced recently when a reputed newspaper came forward with the allegation in public.

The Portland police revealed last week that it had received allegations from Molly Hagerty’s lawyer in 2006 but that the lady canceled her appointment with detectives. The case was reopened early in 2009 but was closed after the police failed to find any sufficient evidence to support the claims made by lady.

On Wednesday as the Oregon Police decided to re investigate the allegations, the spokeswoman for Al Gore Kalee Kreider said to media sources that former Vice President welcomes the investigation and that he “unequivocally and emphatically” maintains that he had made no unwanted sexual advances towards the lady.

The spokeswoman added that the investigation will only benefit Al Gore.
