PMO gets CIC notice over ministers’ assets
September 6th, 2010 - 11:19 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 6 (IANS) The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has been issued a show cause notice by the Central Information Commission (CIC) over “non-compliance” of its order for disclosure of union ministers’ assets.
The Commission also directed the Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) in the Prime Minister’s Office to dispose of the complaint within 10 days.
It also directed the CPIO to “submit an action taken report specifically in regard to the non-compliance of the order” by Sep 10.
The case relates to RTI activist Subhash Chandra Agrawal who wanted to know from the cabinet secretariat the information on assets, wealth and income of all the union ministers. The matter was later referred to the PMO.
