PM wishes Jyoti Basu speedy recovery

Kolkata, Jan 16 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Saturday wished critically ill Marxist patriarch Jyoti Basu a speedy recovery.
“Our thoughts and all our prayers are with him. And I wish him a speedy recovery,” the prime minister said while addressing the 150th anniversary celebrations of St. Xavier’s Collegiate School here.
Basu, hospitalised since Jan 1, is very critical after suffering from multi-organ failure.
The prime minister had visited the AMRI hospital, where Basu is admitted, Jan 7 and offered to arrange for expert doctors for his treatment.
Following his offer, the attending doctors held a tele-conference with specialists at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi.
