PM meets president, discusses coming budget session

New Delhi, Feb 11 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Thursday met President Pratibha Patil at Rashtrapati Bhavan and discussed with her the forthcoming budget session of parliament and other issues.
Officials said the meeting lasted for one hour.
“The two leaders discussed the forthcoming budget session of parliament, the issue of price rise and food security and various other issues of national and international importance,” said a statement issued here.
The budget session of parliament will begin Feb 22 and conclude May 7, with a long break of more than three weeks in between.
The president will make the customary address to the joint session of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, marking the beginning of the fourth session of the 15th Lok Sabha.
This will be the second budget session of the current Lok Sabha.
