New Delhi, March 21 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday greeted the people of India on the eve of Holi, the festival of colours, and Navroz, the Parsi New Year. “May the festival bring gaiety, happiness health and prosperity to all,” Singh said.
“Holi symbolizes the different shades of life and inspires us to rejoice in the glory of nature in all its varied colours. The festival symbolizes the country’s spirit of togetherness, harmony and tolerance,” Singh said in his message.
He also wished the people, especially the Parsis, on the occasion of Navroz, the New Year of the Zoroastrians.
“This is an occasion to celebrate the diversity of our country. It marks a new beginning and inspires us to rejoice in the spirit of harmony and goodwill,” he said.
