PM calls on president; discuss monsoon session

New Delhi, July 13 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday called on President Pratibha Patil to discuss the upcoming monsoon session of parliament among other issues, an official said.
The meeting at Rashtrapati Bhavan lasted for about half-an-hour.
“The two leaders discussed about the upcoming monsoon session of parliament and various other issues of national and international importance,” the official said.
The president broadly discussed about the recommendations of the Governors’ Committee on enhancing productivity, profitability and sustainability of rain-fed/dry-land farming.
The monsoon session is expected to start in August.
