PM arrives in Srinagar

Srinagar, June 7 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived Monday in this summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir on a two-day visit.
He was accompanied by Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and a host of senior officials.
They include T.K.A. Nair, principal secretary to the prime minister, Shivshankar Menon, the national security advisor, and Harish Khare, media advisor to Manmohan Singh.
Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, his father and central minister Farooq Abdullah received the prime minister at the Srinagar airport.
The prime minister is to address the convocation of the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology here. He will also meet leaders of political parties in the evening.
