Philadelphia man arrested in the Eric Cantor threat caseMarch 30th, 2010 - 8:36 pm ICT by Aishwarya Bhatt
Philadelphia, Mar 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A Philadelphia man was arrested in the Eric Cantor threat case. He was also charged with threatening to murder Eric Cantor and his family. The federal authorities revealed that Norman Leboon is facing two counts – which are threatening to kill a member of the Congress and also interfering with the federal duties of the member of the Congress. He is also facing a count of ‘posting the threat video online’. If Norman is convicted on both these charges, then he is bound to be behind bars for at least 15 years.
“At this time, the congressman will have no further comment on this threat or the investigation, and asks that inquiries be directed to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The congressman is deeply grateful for, and would like to dearly thank all local and federal law enforcement involved, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Attorney’s Office[s] in Virginia and Philadelphia, U.S. Capitol Police and the Henrico Police Department in Virginia” Cantor spokesman Brad Dayspring said.
Many members of the Congress have received death threats during the past few weeks, because of their stand on the health care bill. Around 10 Democrats and some Republicans as well, have got threats to their life. This arrest will probably stem the death threats now.
