Sep 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a bizarre case, Peter Morgan has accused Tony Blair of lifting lines from his film in his memoir ‘A Journey’. The film from which the lines have been lifted was based on the fictionalized account of the same event that is in question. In the film ‘The Queen’, the lines spoken by the queen when meeting the Prime Minister for the first time in 1997 are said to be the exact words in the book by Tony Blair. Peter Morgan has alleged that the lines in the film were invented by him out of thin air. He has explained that Tony Blair must have been confused by the movie and taken the dialogues to be real life conversation or it could have also been pure coincidence.
Peter Morgan is known for his opposition to the ideas of Tony Blair. With already three films made on the former British Prime Minister, Peter Morgan has revealed that he will be making a fourth one very soon. He said that he is not yet completed with the story of Tony Blair and felt that he needed to write a screenplay that would show the downfall in the popularity of the former prime minister before the Iraq war in 2003.
Post the screening at a Film Institute of his latest film on Tony Blair, Peter Morgan said that he is just beginning to create the monster. In the latest film, Peter Morgan has shown the dynamics of Tony Blair’s relationship with the former US Presidents Bill Clinton and then George W Bush. Michael Sheen has played the role of Tony Blair in all three films so far.
