Bangkok, 07 December, 2007 (PRD), The People Power Party leader, Mr. Samak Sundaravej (สมัคร สุนทรเวช),says his party is trying to clarify to the general public that the coup against deposed Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra last year was unreasonable, adding that his party wants the people to understand the actual situation.

However, Mr. Samak says the People Power Party is not trying to gain more votes by telling people that the former Prime Minister will return, if his party wins the upcoming general election. He says some parties have used this ploy in their election campaigns, but he considers such political maneuver as comical and shameful since those parties previously accused the ousted Prime Minister Thaksin as a bad person.

If the People Power Party wins the election, Mr. Samak says Pol. Lt. Col. Thaksin would certainly return to Thailand to prove his innocence nevertheless.
