People being made slaves in free country, says Imran Khan
April 7th, 2011 - 6:59 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, April 7 (IANS) Cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan has said the present-day generation is being turned into slaves in an independent country and Pakistan’s fate is being decided somewhere else, the Geo News news channel reported.
Speaking on the occasion of 375 doctors joining his Tehreek-e-Insaf party Wednesday, Khan said his party would stage a sit-in in Peshawar and NATO supply line would be blocked.
Alleging that the present-day government has interests different from those of the country, Khan said: “The interests of the rulers have nothing to do with those of Pakistan; they (rulers) live in fortresses and are personification of a king.”
He said Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers were being sent behind bars as if they were employees of ‘Ittefaq Foundry’, which is embroiled in a bank default case.
