PHILADELPHIA (BNO NEWS) — A Pennsylvania man has pleaded not guilty to threatening to kill President Barack Obama and then eat his flesh, local media reported on Sunday.

The Philadelphia Daily News reported that inmate Gregory Dale Brockman handed over a letter to a psychologist at a state prison in the city of Chester, located in Delaware County, in January. When officials read it, they discovered it was threatening the President and his family.

Brockman, 32, allegedly said in the letter that he was planning to kill Obama, sexually assault First Lady Michelle Obama, and then ’skin her alive.’ He also described how he was planning to “cut [Obama's] meat from his bones and put them in the oven” to eat them, the letter said.

Brockman later told federal agents that he was fascinated by serial killers, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. He was especially interested in Jeffrey Dahmer, who murdered 17 men and boys in a series of killings which involved rape, torture, dismemberment, necrophilia and cannibalism.

Brockman was already serving a 3-to-10-year sentence for a 2007 burglary conviction when he made the threats against the President. Prior to that, he had also been convicted in 2008 of threatening former President George W. Bush.

The newspaper reported that Brockman wrote the threatening letters because he was ‘agitated’ with Obama after reading a newspaper article about the deaths of nine Americans in Iraq. It also mentioned that Obama was planning to send more troops to Afghanistan, fueling his anger.

He was further angry that Obama was spending money abroad in Afghanistan and Iraq and did not use it to help Americans at home instead. Officials said Brockman wrote the letters to calm his anger, but later decided to send one of them to the Secret Service.

Although Brockman has pleaded not guilty, he reportedly told federal agents that he would act on his thoughts if he was released from prison. He faces 51 to 63 months in federal prison if found guilty.
