Patil meets British PM Gordon Brown

London, Oct 28 (IANS) President Pratibha Patil Wednesday met British Prime Minister Gordon Brown at his official residence 10, Downing Street for a half-hour exchange of views.
Patil was accompanied by Minister of State for Human Resource Development Daggubati Purandeswari, Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and other senior Indian officials, including Joint Secretary (Europe) Rajesh Prasad.
The meeting between Patil and Brown is the first such since India and Britain signed a landmark strategic partnership agreement in 2004.
Brown also met Patil Tuesday at a state banquet thrown in her honour by the British queen in Windsor.
