Oust Deora as petroleum minister: Amar SinghJuly 15th, 2008 - 7:29 pm ICT by IANS
New Delhi, July 15 (IANS) Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh Tuesday demanded that Murli Deora should not be the petroleum minister “because of his proximity to a particular industrial house”. “If I ever become a minister, I will not take up telecom or information and broadcasting ministry as I have relations with Anil Ambani and Amitabh Bachchan,” Amar Singh told reporters here.
Asked about Mukesh Ambani’s meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, he said: “He is a part of PM’s Economic Advisory Council and has all the right to meet anyone.
“He recently met (West Bengal Chief Minister) Buddhadeb Bhattacharya and Jyoti Basu also. For industrialisation, industrialists have to meet politicians. So it should not be interpreted in a wrong manner.”
