Opposition members walk out of Bihar assembly
March 3rd, 2010 - 8:17 pm ICT by IANSPatna, March 3 (IANS) The opposition members Wednesday walked out of the Bihar assembly, protesting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s reply on discussion over the governor’s address about the state government’s achievements.
The members were provoked by the chief minister’s remarks that silence maintained by the opposition showed that they agreed with the state government’s achievements.
“The entire opposition walked out of the assembly soon after Nitish Kumar’s remarks to protest the failures of the state government,” Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) legislator Shakeel Ahmad Khan told reporters.
The assembly session resumed Wednesday after the Holi break.
The month-long budget session of the Bihar assembly began last month.
