Ranchi, Dec 20 (IANS) Only 19 of the total 82 legislators in the Jharkhand assembly have so far declared their assets as asked by the speaker earlier this year. Not a single minister’s name figures in the list.
Speaker C.P. Singh Tuesday announced the names of the 19 legislators who have declared their assets.
The prominent names which did the needful were Speaker Singh himself, Leader of Opposition and Congress legislator Rajendra Singh, and former deputy chief minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Raghubar Das.
The speaker directed all the legislators to declare their assets by Wednesday. The five-day winter session of the assembly will end Friday.
In the budget session early this year, the speaker had asked all legislators to declare their assets. Chief Minister Arjun Munda had announced he and all the other ministers would declare assets. No time frame was set for declaration of the assets.
