Washington, Aug 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) President Barack Obama is on a three-day tour to the Midwest where he hopes to revive his chances of retaining his seat during the 2012 US Presidential race. The President has already been to Minnesota and is expected to be in Iowa on Tuesday and wrap his tour up in Illinois on Wednesday.

Obama’s tour bus is not your regular tour bus. The Secret Service spent $1.1 million on the bus and they claim that it was not purchased for the comfort of the President alone. The spokesperson of the US Secret Service Ed Donovan stressed that other dignitaries will use the bus in the future as well.

The black bus has red and blue flashing lights and the windows are tainted. The SS says they purchased the bus because the service does not have some in their fleet of automobiles. Donovan revealed that two of the buses were purchased. As Obama drives around in one, public officials and other candidates will also be given the other bus for their travels.

President Obama has kicked start his re-election campaign. The condition that the US economy currently finds itself has greatly affected the President’s popularity.
