Barack Obama United States president Barack Obama is set to deliver a speech to students on Tuesday. The speech will be broadcast live from noon onwards. Obama’s plan to speak to the students has stirred up a controversy. Some call it a valuable classroom lesson while others claim that the president could use this speech to promote his agenda.

As a result, the White House will release the transcript of this speech on its website http://www.whitehouse.gov/ today to allow parents to go thru it and decide for themselves if it is suitable for their children to listen to Obama’s School Speech.

Harford County has decided against broadcasting the speech. Teri Kranefeld, communications manager for the school system of the district put some light on the issue saying, “We’re not actually denying the opportunity for students; rather we just want the opportunity to review it and see if there’s a way that we can put it in instruction.”

Obama seems to be walking in the shadow of President Bush who also gave a public speech of this nature in the start of his presidential tenure.

The speech comes at a time when Obama is loosing support of many Americans mainly because of issues surrounding health care reforms. It would be interesting to see how this plays out in the end.

The Republicans have expressed distrust of the sudden approach made to innocent children.
