obamaschoolspeechtranscriptA transcript of Obama’s speech where he proposes that children will be self-responsible on matters of their education is reportedly to surface on a website by Monday. Teri Kranefeld, who is the communications manager (for the district concerned) put some light on the issue saying, “We’re not actually denying the opportunity for students; rather we just want the opportunity to review it and see if there’s a way that we can put it in instruction.”

Helen Washington, a concerned parent giving her own support to Obama, said that it would be commendable on the part of the President if he were to encourage the American children, and guide them on the ennobling path to greatness, and that if anybody had disagreements on that perspective, it was being rather unreasonably cryptic.

While many parents are surprised by Obama’s plans of directly addressing students on Tuesday, opposition parties are indulging in making a big issue of Obama’s tactics which are eyed as hyped political propaganda. Many parents and school authorities are concluding suspiciously, that the process is a way of ideological “indoctrination”, and Harford County has taken strict decisions of not broadcasting the aforementioned speech.

Even Obama seems to be walking in the shadow of President Bush who also gave a public speech of this nature in the start of his presidential tenure. In a period when Obama is losing the common faith of Americans and seems to be mired in controversy of the health care reforms, naturally this action relates to his improving his general appeal to masses. The Republicans have expressed distrust of the sudden approach made to innocent children.

Update: The full text of Obama’s school speech is available here.
