Obama-Clinton Democratic debate in Pennsylvania will be historicApril 17th, 2008 - 7:30 am ICT by amritpal
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton will share the stage in Pennsylvania today which promises lot of interesting speeches and responses from both candidates since their last debate in Ohio on February 26, 2008.
Although, both Obama and Clinton are likely to have a tough time, given the fact that the debate will be on prime time ABC television with millions of spectators watching their every single word with attenton. A single word here and there could make a big negative impact on their campaigns.
For Obama, the debate is particularly important as he has been already cornered following his comments on Pennsylvania voters as “bitter.” He will definitely be asked questions related to that and he also knows this. It will be interesting to see how he manages to wriggles out of the situation and manages the debate. Clinton also understands that the “bitter” comments made by Obama give her he best opportunity to win the game. If she can’t make use of the situation already in her favor she might never get this opportunity again.
As political base sums it up aptly, “It’s hard to imagine that Clinton will not aggressively take the debate directly to Obama with the goal of landing a hard punch with hopes it will change the dynamics of the race.”
