October 9, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): a senior North Korean official confirmed today that the youngest son of dictator Kim Jong-il is going to get his father’s chair. The communist state is going to hold the biggest military parade in the history of North Korea to honor the young leader. A member of the Political Bureau of the Worker’s Party told the reporters that the young leader will follow in his father’s footsteps and usher in a new era.
Right now Kim Jung-un is 27 years old and he is likely to rule the county with an iron fist just like his father did. General Kim Jong-un is going to take over the reins of the country from his ailing father and present leader Kim Jong-il. During the military exercise, it seems that the father-son duo will appear at the reviewing platform and confirm the passing of the baton.
The high-profile military parade is a first in the history of North Korea and it will corroborate the succession as well as pave the way for new policies. More than 20,000 troops are likely to participate in the upcoming event.
The communist party members suggest that the third son of Kim Jong-il was destined to follow in his father’s footsteps and he has been groomed for that purpose. It has been speculated that Kim Jong-il’s deteriorating health is the reason behind the sudden announcement. Recently Kim Jong –un was made four star general by his father, which made him the second in command. It has been reported that the young man has qualities of a good leader. The young leader might address the nation and discuss his vision for the country on the day of the parade.
