New York Election Results In Favor Of Mayor Michael Bloomberg

ny-electionNew York, Nov.4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been declared as the winner of the New York re-election for the post of the mayor. The candidate of the Independent Party, Michael Bloomberg, has returned to the office of the Mayor for the third time. The New York election results was not in favor of the Democratic party and their candidate Bill Thompson has lost by little margin. The Democratic Party has lost most of the major elections of the country. Apart from the New York election, the Democrats have lost the New Jersey and Virginia elections.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg, after becoming the winner of the election would once again start his work for the city’s benefit. In his next four years term, he would start to balance the budget of the city. According to the reports of the sources, projection states the city would have a deficit of 5 billion dollars once the fiscal year gets started from 1st July. Unemployment has become a significant problem for New York and the mayor is also expected to take some steps to cope up with the unemployment related issues. Mayor Bloomberg will also have to fulfill the promises that he made during the election campaigns. He has promised to improve the municipal services and schools.

Bill Thompson, the Democratic candidate for New York thanked his volunteers and campaign staffs for supporting him during the campaign. He said, “This campaign was about standing strong, standing tall, and never backing down in the face of a formidable challenge.” He also congratulated Mayor Bloomberg for winning the election.
