Thiruvananthapuram, May 2 (IANS) The nationwide strike called by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to protest rising prices led to deserted streets in Kerala with shops and commercial establishments remaining closed and even government offices reporting thin attendance. Most public transport vehicles were off the road, but private vehicles were plying in cities.

However, the two IT parks in Kochi and the state capital functioned normally.
