Navin Chawla reviews poll preparation in Jharkhand

- Ranchi, Nov 3 (IANS) Chief Election Commissioner Navin Chawla Tuesday arrived in this Jharkhand capital to review the poll preparation in the state for assembly elections beginning Nov 25.
Chawla held a meeting with senior government officials and deputy commissioners of all 24 districts.
According to officials, he reviewed the law and order situation, including Maoist menace, in the state. He also reviewed the progress made in distribution of photo identity cards and updating of the voters’ list.
The five phase Jharkhand poll begins Nov 25 and ends Dec 18. The votes will be counted Dec 23.
