Nancy Reagan Celebrates Ronald Reagan’s 100th Birthday

Feb 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Sunday, the people of United States celebrated the 100th anniversary of 40th President of the United States, Ronald Reagan, who passed away on June 5, 2004. Former First lady Nancy Reagan paid tribute to her husband and remembered him as well. Many veteran actors, former advisers, musicians and friends paid their tribute to the late President
The media outlets reported that there were about 1,500 invited people present at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley to celebrate Ronald Reagan’s birthday. Nancy Reagan addressed the crowd and said that she knows her husband would be thrilled to see that so many people have gathered to celebrate his 100th birthday. The former First lady looked up on the sky when she uttered the word. Ronald Reagan’s son Ron Reagan and ex-Vice President Dick Cheney was also present Simi Valley. One of the most emotional moment was when Nancy Reagan shouted and wished “Happy Birthday” to her husband.
James Baker III, the former Cabinet Secretary and Ronald Reagan’s close friend praised his friend and said that Ronald Reagan taught everyone about freedom, self-reliance and commonsense and it remains true till date. Ronald Reagan passed away in 2004 after losing his battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Sunday’s centennial program witnessed an F-18 flyover, 21-gun salute and laying of presidential wreath n Ronald Reagan’s memorial site at the Reagan ranch in Simi Valley, California. Musicians Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant performed in the show and John Danforth, former Senator and an Episcopal priest provided a prayer in memory of the former President. Fred Ryan, who presently runs Ronald Reagan introduced a coin on the auspicious day.
