Nov 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Uncertainty looms large over the political career of Nancy Pelosi the House Speaker who is going to pave the way for her successor John Boehner in near future. After getting a severe drubbing in the midterm election and losing the House majority to the GOP the ruling Democrats need to decide whether they would re elect the speaker as the Top Democrat or not. Nancy Pelosi on her part has not elaborated on the point and she told the reporters that she will have to make up her mind. However, she seemed to be unfazed by the Democrat debacle and remained graceful even in defeat. The first female speaker of the House said in a statement that she has no regrets for her 4 year historic tenure.
Nancy Pelosi did not deviate from her stance even after the disastrous poll results which has put the Democrats at a somewhat vulnerable position. She is trying to evaluate the effectiveness of some key policies suggested and implemented by her party in the recent times. She said in another statement “The outcome of the election does not diminish the work we have done for the American people.”We must all strive to find common ground to support the middle class, create jobs, reduce the deficit and move our nation forward.” this sounds similar to what the US President said after the result. He also expressed his willingness to co operate with the GOP for improving the economy and help the mass.
Some of the political analysts are thinking she may resign while others are thinking she would prefer to lie low for some time. The president called her up after the election results.
