Mumbai gets new chief secretary, municipal commissioner
November 30th, 2009 - 10:19 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, Nov 30 (IANS) Senior civil servant J.P. Dange was Monday appointed the new chief secretary of Maharashtra.
An additional chief secretary (forests) till his new appointment, Dange has also served as an additional municipal commissioner in Mumbai.
He replaces Johny Joseph, who retired Monday and has been appointed as the Upa-Lok Ayukta of Maharashtra.
Another senior bureaucrat, Swadhin Kshatriya has been appointed the new commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) in place of Jairaj Phatak.
In a related development, senior official A.K. Jain took over as principal secretary to Chief Minister Ashok Chavan. The post was until now held by Kshatriya who shifts to the MCGM.
