Mulayam’s brother, son framed me, alleges Amar Singh
May 30th, 2010 - 11:46 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 30 (IANS) Expelled Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh Sunday alleged that party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav’s brother and son played a key role in framing him in the Rs.500-crore money laundering case Uttar Pradesh Police filed against him last year.
In the latest post on his blog, Amar Singh said he had been provided evidence about the “conspiracy” against him by some of the conspirators.
Apologising to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati for his remarks that she had been instrumental in getting a case registered against him on a “false complaint” of the scam, Singh alleged that Rs.7 crore were paid to a functionary of his former party to trap him.
“I am writing a blog about my previous party for the last time. First of all, I want to apologise to Chief Minister Mayawati because it was not she but the brother and son of SP chief (Mulayam Singh Yadav) who got me framed in the false case lodged at Babupurwa police station,” Singh said.
“The leaders of a party I served with dedication for 14 years conspired against me and I cast doubts on Mayawatiji and the Congress. I am feeling ashamed,” he said.
Singh said he had proof of all he had written and, if challenged, he will hold a press conference to announce it.
He also praised Mayawati for honest recruitment in the state police force.
An FIR was lodged against Singh and his wife Pankaja in Kanpur October last year for alleged financial fraud, on the complaint of local lawyer Shiv Kant Tiwari who alleged that between 2003-2008, the couple amalgamated their companies with other holdings and had amassed nearly Rs.500 crore.
