New Delhi, Sep 27 (IANS) Stating that there were “always differences in a government”, Corporate Affairs Minister M. Veerappa Moily Tuesday said there was nothing wrong with the government “under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh”.
The opposition has been gunning for the government, citing a note from the finance ministry to the Prime Minister’s Office suggesting that P. Chidambaram as the then finance minister could have stopped the 2G spectrum sellout.
Reacting to the opposition’s charge of “war within the UPA”, Moily said there are “always differences in a government” but this does not mean “that the ministers cannot express their views”.
Defending Chidambaram, Moily said: “Whenever certain matter is before the court, it does not become the property of a political party.”
“There is no verdict from the court.”
Moily also defended Manmohan Singh and said that his being the “captain of the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) government, does not mean that Singh has to supervise every component”.
