New Delhi, Nov 20 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani Sunday said his 40-day Jan Chetna Yatra was a success but he missed ailing former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the nationwide tour.
“This yatra has been unique in many ways,” Advani said, addressing a public rally here to mark the conclusion of his journey to create awareness on corruption and black money stashed in foreign banks.
He said he has conducted six nationwide journeys in the 60 years of his joining politics. “I received overwhelming welcome in various states. But this was the first yatra when Vajpayee-ji was not with me,” he said.
Advani said he had sought Vajpayee’s blessings the day before he set out on the 40-day journey on Oct 11.
The 87-year-old Vajpayee has been away from active politics due to his ailing health.
