New Delhi, Sep 8 (IANS) Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar said Congress chief Sonia Gandhi was “missed” during parliament’s monsoon session that ended Thursday.
In her valedictory address before adjourning the lower house sine die, Meira Kumar said Lok Sabha members conveyed their best wishes to Sonia Gandhi, who returned to India early Thursday after over month-long treatment in the US, for a speedy recovery.
“I am sure, during this session, all of you, along with me, missed the presence of Sonia Gandhi, UPA chairperson, who is recuperating after treatment in the US,” the speaker said.
“We convey our very best wishes for her speedy recovery,” she added.
Meira Kumar also noted that another Lok Sabha member, Gobind Chandra Naskar, too had not been able to attend the house due to ill-health and wished him speedy recovery.
