Minorities group hopes Obama victory will end terrorism

Barack ObamaMumbai, Nov 5 (IANS) Expressing hope that the US relations with India and the Islamic world would enter a new era, the All India Minorities Front (AIMF) Wednesday greeted Barack Obama’s election as “a historic triumph which overcame racial barriers as old as America itself”.In a message to Obama, AIMF president S.M. Asif said that in his election “the world will find a new leader and the blacks will have honour and dignity all over”.

“Moreover, the minorities in the US and elsewhere shall have a strong voice of their own at the highest level,” said Asif.

The AIMF chief added that Nov 5 will go down in history as a day to remember for the minorities and blacks all over the world when one of them has proved that, with wisdom, understanding and an impartial approach, nothing is impossible to achieve.

Asif also expressed the hope that Obama’s tenure as the US president would prove to be the end of terrorism in the world.
