Mayawati government misusing central funds: BJPApril 10th, 2009 - 9:03 pm ICT by IANS
Lucknow, April 10 (IANS) The Uttar Pradesh government is misusing the funds the central government has provided for development work, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi charged Friday.
“Like the previous Samajwadi Party government, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government too is misusing the central funds,” Naqvi said at a press conference here.
The reports of the Planning Commission and the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reveal that development in the state is not satisfactory compared to the funds released by the central government for development schemes, he added.
The Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government was not taking any action against the government of Chief Minister Mayawati despite knowing that the funds were being misused, Naqvi added.
Naqvi said his party hopes to win at least 50 of the 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh and cross the 300-seat mark with its allies across the country.
