Pennsylvania, May 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The results for the Pennsylvania’s 12th district elections are out and the verdict is that Mark Critz has defeated candidate Tim Burns. Which also means that it is a Democrat’s win over a Republican. The seat which Mark Critz has just won was formerly occupied by John Murtha. Mark Critz was one of the former aides to this Congressman, he served under John Murtha.
According to political analysts, the people of the district of Pennsylvania have become very conservative in the last few years. They have continuously voted for the Democrats. So it is being predicted by these analysts that if the Republicans have to return to power with a bang, then they will have to fight it hard in this year’s elections and will have to try and win the majority seats in the Pennsylvania special elections. However with Mark Critz defeating Tim Burns, it looks like this year too it is the Democrats who will walk home as the happy party.
Both the contesting candidates this year appealed for the people’s votes keeping in mind the conservative values that are so cherished in Pennsylvania. They put forward claims that they will fight against the laws pertaining to abortion rights and gun control, and of course both Mark Critz and Tim Burns said that they will oppose President Barack Obama’s health care plan. Tim Burns announced that his party will push hard for the repeal of the new health care reforms that have been announced by the President. Mark Critz on the other hand said that he will try to create more jobs for the middle class youth of Pennsylvania.
