Spartanburg, Feb 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Marcus Lattimore has announced that he has decided to make his commitment to the University of South Carolina. He made the announcement on Tuesday at a press conference that was scheduled to be held at an unusual venue, at the Silver Hall Memorial United Methodist Church in Spartanburg in South Carolina. Along with the press, a huge crowd had also congregated in the place, as the event was open to the public. The announcement was scheduled to be held at around 6 in the evening.

This declaration of Marcus Lattimore has put an end to the endless speculation that had been surrounding his decision. He had also been approached by the Auburn University. The announcement of the all-USA college football star was a fun filled event, as Marcus Lattimore decided to play up the suspense a bit more just prior to the declaration. He first donned the cap of Auburn University, and then took it off to wear the cap of the University of Southern Carolina, commenting that it fitted him better.

On a more serious note, he said that he finally decided to opt for the University of Southern Carolina as he felt that the offense of that team was the perfect fit for him, mostly because he preferred to “catch out of the backfield.” He explained that he had come to a decision after he visited the University of Southern California campus for a final time on Saturday. He had visited the campus along with the coaching staff of the Gamecocks. He further confessed that having made the decision, he felt much lighter, and felt that he could now concentrate on beating the Southern Miss.
